Mr. Martin Ssali is the Nsoynet Chief Executive Officer. He holds a masters degree in Technology Innovations and Industrial Development and a Bachelors of Science in Food Science and Technology from Makerere University, Kampala. He has undergone various soya bean trainings within and abroad to equip him with the necessary skills needed to develop the soya bean sector in Uganda.

2. Paul OJikan,

Mr. Paul Ojikan is the Chairperson of the National Soya bean Network. He also works as the Manager of Mayuge District Farmers Association. Paul has a 9 year agricultural extension experience and has been working in the field of soya bean production for 6 years. He has a National Diploma from Arapai National Agricultural College where he specialized in Agricultural Extension Education and Crop Science and Production. He has undertaken several advance trainings that include Seed production and management conducted by Makerere University and Namulonge, Value Chain development, project planning and management, business development and business management, resource mobilization and networking among others. He has worked with FK Agro-consultancy Firm to deliver Advisory Services on NAADS programme, Managing Director, Community Empowerment for Agriculture Development (CEAD U Ltd), Promised Land Education and Agricultural Development ltd from June 2004-2005 as Director in-charge Agricultural services, international Institute of Tropical Agriculture, to deliver Advisory Services under NAADS programme in Buyanga Sub-county.

Mr. David Kaiso is the NSOYNET Chief Accountant. He holds a Bachelors in Commerce of Makerere University Business school and has a 5 year experience in the accounting field. He also works works as an accounting consultant for several government projects.

4. Prof. Phinehas Tukamuhabwa

Prof. Phinehas is the patron of the National soybean Network. He is a senior lecturer and soybean breeder in the Department of Crop science, School of Agricultural Sciences, Makerere University Kampala. He holds a Doctor of philosophy (PhD) in crop breeding with soybean as a speciality and is one of the founders of the network. He has wide experience in soya bean breeding and has worked with both government departments, local and international NGOs

5. Ms. Hellen Nandera Mobile: +256 782 55 02 52 Email Ms. Helen Nandera is the General Secretary of NSOYNET. She has a seven year experience in the food processing sector. She also works for East African Basic Foods limited, a member of the National Soya Bean Network as the Production Manager. Prior to this position, she served as the Production Supervisor, Quality Manager and Marketing Manager in the same company. She was working with Proctor and Allan (U) Ltd as the Chief Quality Controller before joining East African basic foods Limited. Helen holds a bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Technology from Makerere University, Kampala

6. Mr. Tonny Obua,

Mr. Tony Obua is the treasurer for National soya bean network. He has a four year experience as a researcher and soya bean breeder. He holds a Master of Science in Crop Science [Plant Breeding and genetics] and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture both from Makerere University Kampala. He also works as Research Associate for the Soybean Breeding Programme, Department of Agricultural Production, School of Agricultural Sciences, Makerere University Kampala.

7. Mr. David Nanfumba,

Mr. David Nanfumba is the Production Officer for the National Soya Bean Network. He has a seven year experience working with both government and nongovernmental organisations. He is currently the agronomist and seed systems specialist for the National Agricultural Research Organisation (NARO). David holds a master of Agriculture science and a bachelor of science in Agriculture from Makerere University Kampala-Uganda. He has undertaken several specialized trainings like integrated rice production techniques at Africa rice St Louis Senegal, Agronomic yield gap analysis at Africa rice Benin, rice production techniques for researchers at international rice research institute (IRRI) los Banios Philippines, hunger in the 21st centuary, causes consequences and responses with world food programme at faculty of Agriculture Makerere University, plant breeding and seed production systems at Alnarp University, Swedish international Development Agency (SIDA) and Svalof consulting in Alnarp, Sweden .All these are intended to equip him with enough skills required of a seed specialist and researcher. He also works for the International Centre for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) on part time basis where he facilitates training on Seed Systems in the Great Lakes Region for participants from Burundi, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

8. Isaac Kimaze Ssemakadde

Mr. Isaac Kimaze is the legal advisor for the National Soya Bean Networ. He is also the founder and executive director of Legal Brains Trust, a public interest advocacy organisation. A full-time public interest lawyer who provides pro bono legal services on a voluntary basis, Isaac has an in-depth knowledge of public and administrative law, human rights law, and education law. He has been involved in a number of the most high profile public law cases in Uganda, including the Reflexology Case (lifting a Ministry of Health ban; allowing over 1000 Reflexology centres to re-open and serve and their clients), the SIM-Card Registration Case (raising concerns about absence of privacy and data protection guarantees; now Government has ordered the Ministry of ICT to draft the Privacy and Data Protection Bill) and the Kyambogo Cases (stopping the university from suspending student activists and denying them exams and on-campus meals and accommodations). Since starting practice in 2009, he has advised or acted in proceedings for or against a range of leading activists and national charities in constitutional controversies and human rights challenges. These include the Anti Corruption Coalition of Uganda, National NGO Forum, DENIVA, HURINET, Action Aid International Uganda, Human Rights Network for Journalists Uganda and Hub for Investigative Media. Before deciding to run his own organisation on fulltime basis, Mr Ssemakadde worked briefly as a legal clerk to Honourable Justice Bart M Katureebe of the Supreme Court of Uganda and as a legal assistant to Mr David F K Mpanga, the current Attorney General of the Kingdom of Buganda (Ssabawolereza). An old boy of St. Mary’s College Kisubi, Mr. Ssemakadde is also a former president of Makerere University Law Society and publisher of Makerere Law Journal. He frequently writes and speaks nationally in the media regarding topical issues of human rights and justice, public private partnerships, and digitization projects

the Managing Director of the fast growing SESACO Ltd is also the Industrial co-ordinator of NSOYNET. He has a lot of experience in the marketing of different soybased products and his business has become an a major icon of soy based products in Uganda and the entire East African region……
